Turmeric Tea for Reducing Pain

Turmeric is an ancient spice derived from the rhizomes of Curcuma longa, which is a member of the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). Also known as ‘Golden Spice of India’ turmeric has been used in India for medicinal purposes for centuries. It has been used in traditional medicine as a household remedy for various diseases, including biliary disorders, anorexia, cough, diabetic wounds, hepatic disorders, rheumatism and sinusitis. It is very good for pain as well as it reduces inflammation and decreases pain.

Here is a quick recipe for Turmeric Tea that you can easily make at home 

Ingredients :

– 4 cups water

– 2 tablespoons fresh, grated turmeric OR 1 rounded teaspoon ground turmeric

– 1 teaspoon black pepper (optional) honey or lemon to taste

Instructions :

– Bring water to boil. Stir in turmeric and black pepper – for ground turmeric, boil until dissolved; for grated turmeric, boil about 15 minutes.

– Strain

– Add lemon or honey to tate and enjoy while hot.
