Family Is Power

Today someone asked me on Instagram how I cope with being diagnosed with CRPS/RSD because she is a recently diagnosed warrior herself, I could list them but for me the main one and the most important coping mechanism I have used and still use is that of Family. I wrote back to her saying that having a strong support system to pick you up. I also mentioned that my personal support system is definitely my family and most importantly my strong and kick-ass mom who has been my everything from day one! We are bound forever to those with whom we share blood. And while we may not choose our family, that bond can be our greatest strength or our deepest regret. The bond of family blesses us with an immeasurable power. But we also must accept what comes with it. It gives us a responsibility to love without condition, without apology. We can never waiver from the power of that bond, even when it is tested. The bond nourishes us, gives us strength. Without that power, we are nothing.

Family above all, always and forever.
